Jason Carr

Co-Founder

Jason Carr was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. He discovered a love for tennis at a very early age which lead to attending a top tennis academy in the US and went on to become a professional player, achieving success on the pro circuit and as a coach. The experience gained from his years as an athlete became essential in his future success as an entrepreneur.

Ultimately, Jason decided to leave tennis behind and work in the family business. It was during this career venture where he learned all aspects of running a company, and developed a comprehensive understanding of the textile industry. Taking the newfound knowledge and extensive experience he acheived, Jason and his brother, Rodney formed Softline Home Fashions in 2001, where he serves as President. The company was founded and is based in Los Angeles where Jason currently resides. Aside from the business, his passions still include tennis, as well as Formula One racing, and reading.

Jason also enjoys traveling and conducts business in countries around the world, where he sources and oversees production. His talent for developing new product is apparent in Softline’s fashion forward collections. In addition to running the day-to-day operations of the business, Jason participates as a keynote speaker on several panels, and also provides commentary as an industry expert for major news outlets including Fox News, Wall Street Journal, CNN and ABC News.

Jason is proud of the many employees that have greatly contributed to the growth of the company and to show appreciation, Softline offers ESL courses, full health-care and many other benefits for their staff. In addition, the company contributes to several charities, such as Susan G. Komen, American Cancer Society and The American Red Cross. Jason’s plans for the future include, writing a book with Rodney about the lessons he has learned as an entrepreneur and the How-to’s of starting a business. His goal as an employer, friend, and brother is to “inspire people to set one’s goals high and be the best they can be”.

Rodney Carr

Co-Founder

Born and raised in Montreal, Canada, Rodney Carr attended an all-boys elementary school, where he first developed his love for athletics. Excelling in golf, wrestling and competitive skiing, he also exhibited early signs of his entrepreneurial skills by setting up small and profitable businesses within his community.

Rodney inherited a strong work ethic from his father and learned, while working for the family business, that dedication and hard work are the keys to success. After attending Concordia University in Montreal, he moved to Los Angeles in 2001 to join his brother, Jason, where they formed Softline Home Fashions. In 2009 Rodney married his long time sweetheart and still resides in Los Angeles. They are now proud parents of 2 beautiful children; their daughter Chloe Ava and son Quinn Franco.

As Co-founder and Director, Rodney oversees all Softline’s domestic and international sales. One of Rodney’s many strengths is his ability to forecast trends in home fashion and design, and is constantly working with his creative team to develop new product. He also has an in-depth understanding of his customers’ needs and strongly believes that business is more than just closing a deal; it is building networks, and establishing long lasting relationships. Rodney is constantly pushing the boundaries of Softline’s success, with the help of a determined and very talented team.

Rodney enjoys traveling and exploring the world, for both work and pleasure. Exercise is a very important part of his life and he has completed two Marathons; his other passion is auto-racing, which comes from years of attending Formula One races with his brother and father. He contributes to many notable charities and believes that giving back is essential in life. Through his business experience, Rodney has discovered newfound patience, persistence, and a balance of life. His mantras is to “stay positive, be great at what you do and try to live in the moment”.
